What is Biodegradable Plastics?

Bioplastics are plastics derived from renewable biomass sources, such as vegetable fats and oils, cornstarch, or sugarcane.

Biodegradable plastics or Compostable plastics are a kind of plastic that decomposes naturally in the environment. This is achieved when microorganisms in the environment metabolize and break down the structure of that plastics to be water, carbon dioxide, biomass and no harmful materials remain in the environment.

Did you know that…

How can you tell the difference between Bioplastics vs. Plastics ?

“A Closed Loop Solution” – What most people don’t know is how to differentiate between plastics and bioplastics. With the naked eye, people often are not able to tell whether this food packaging is made from plastics or bioplastics, since they are thinly coated onto the paper and look exactly the same. So how can you tell the difference? Next time, notice these symbols before you purchase the products!

How are Bio-Eco’s products certified to be environmental friendly -or- 100% compostable?

Our BioPBS (from PTT MCC Biochem) or PLA (from NatureWorks Ingeo) products are certified from our raw material suppliers to be fully bio compostable through the use of the “GC Compostable” Label. Our products are also certified by FDA Approval, EN 13432, EU 10/2011, ISO 9001.2015. Please see our certificates section for more info.
